Dr. M. Eugenia ‘Jenny’ Verdaguer is Chief of the Western Hemisphere Fulbright Programs Branch. In that capacity, she oversees all academic exchange programs across the region in consultation with U.S. Embassies, Fulbright Commissions, Cooperating Agencies and other relevant partners in the United States and across the region. Before joining the Bureau in 2007, Dr. Verdaguer was Director of the Bachelor of Individualized Study at George Mason University, Visiting Research Fellow at The Catholic University of America, and Director of International Fellowship Programs at the AAUW Educational Foundation. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she holds an M.A in International Relations and a Ph.D. in Sociology from American University, where she has taught courses on economic sociology, immigration and gender. A Latin Americanist, Dr. Verdaguer has published on Latin American immigrant entrepreneurial practices and their worship communities in the United States.
