North Macedonia celebrated their Fulbright Day with a live event on June 4 at 12:00 EDT/18:00 CET. It was co-hosted by PAS Skopje and the First Lady of North Macedonia, Professor Elizabeta Gjorgievska, who is a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar alumna of the Fulbright Program. Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Academic Programs at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Marianne Craven also provided a video address.
The event took place at the President’s residency in Skopje, North Macedonia and was also livestreamed. Approximately 50 in-person participants took part, including representatives from both governments and 30 North Macedonian Fulbright alumni. The event emcee was 2003 Fulbright Visiting Scholar alumna, Biljana Sekulovska, and the virtual attendees included members of the Macedonian American Alumni Association (MAAA).
